Check structure of Pool and or Spa
Assure proper circulation
Check shell ( stains, cracks, chipping, etc)
Check waterline tile
Check Skimmer (s)
Check water Auto fill device
Check all lights and handrails if applicable
Check perimeter concr
ELECTRICAL
One of the must important factors to consider checking on any pool is
the electrical system, ground and bonding wires, this can be the difference
between a safe and a risky pool
GFCI protection is a safety component that should be installed on all
pools if there are lights to be in use we still find pools with lights and
no GFCI protection …. UNBELIEVABLE!
Check for signs of reverse polarity on all outlets with electrical conjunction
with pool panel system.
Check for separation of bonding and grounding wires if Pool panel acting
as Sub Panel from main ( house ) to pool system
Assure all support equipment of pool is properly bonded
Locate and trip GFCI make sure it trips smoothly then re-set back...try a couple times
Look for water leakage on pool fixtures
Assure all components of Pool system are in good working condition, this to include
Pump (s)
Filter (S)
Timers ( for all pumps and lights)
Heater( s )
Etc.
